Safety Briefing and Terms and Conditions
Below are a few points we would like you to consider before riding to ensure the health and safety of
all riders.
1. Mountain biking like any extreme sport, is dangerous and includes obstacles which can be
physically testing. There is a risk of injury and death when undertaking such activities.
2. Ensure you ride within your ability. We advise all riders look at the trails before they ride.
3. Trails are graded according to ability (Blue, Red, Black), ensure you are competent
to ride each track. If in doubt start on the easier (Blue) trails and work your way up.
4. ‘Pre-Ride > Re-Ride > Freeride’. Please be aware of your own ability and familiarise yourself
with the tracks before riding.
5. Ensure you have correct equipment and check the maintenance of your bike before riding.
6. ‘No Helmet, No Ride’ - You must wear correctly fitted (BS EN 1078) helmet.
7. A properly fitting full-face helmet, eye protection, knee pads, body armour, neck brace, back
protection and gloves are highly recommended.
8. If you do not have a helmet you are not permitted to ride.
9. It is your responsibility to ensure you and your equipment is fit for purpose.
10. Do not walk or ride up the trails. If you have to stop please try and move off the trail as soon
as possible.
11. Please take your litter home with you and do not leave rubbish or bottles beside the trials or
in the car park.
12. In the unfortunate case of an accident or injury, please ensure you report it to a member of
staff.
13. The owners reserve the right to revoke day passes and / or ban riders from Exeter Bike Park
for breaching the Riders Code, Mountain Bike and Equipment Checklist or on grounds of
safety.
14. If you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs you are not permitted to ride.
15. The rider in front has priority. If switching from one trail to another check there is no one
behind you on the other trail. The person already on the other trail has priority.
16. A parent or guardian must accompany all riders aged 14 or under at all times at a ratio of 1
parent or guardian to a maximum of three riders aged 14 or under.
